It is truly an honor to be elected as the 33rd Worshipful Master of Wolcott Lodge No.146. I first and foremost have to thank the Grand Architect of the Universe, and I am gracious for the confidence in which the brethren have in me to fulfill my obligations. Two to three years ago, the shape of the lodge was looking grim to the point of almost going dark. However, with the wisdom, beauty and strength of the few active brothers and diligent Past Masters, we have revived our lodge to a point where we are flourishing with young, enthusiastic members.
For the first time since I have been raised, there is a clear vision of progression and depth in the upcoming line.
Wolcott Lodge is full of fascinating history, and is known for being a frontrunner, which I hope we can continue. We will carry on our support for a high school student with our yearly scholarship as well as having the widow’s dinner and family BBQ. I intend to make this year one where we also give back to our community.
I ask the sleeping brethren to wake up, come back and join us in our journey upon that LEVEL of time. Pull out your old COMPASS and find your way back to 313 Bound Line Road. May we be reminded of the importance of keeping the promises we have made. Teach us that the obligations we have taken upon ourselves cannot be overlooked or forgotten. Show us how to take our lives in their rude and natural state, and SQUARE and polish them so that we may become disciplined and educated. Keep us everlastingly at the task of self-mastery. Enable us to use the GAVEL to transform our rough ashlar into the perfect ashlar. Allow us to GAUGE our success in masonry through brotherly love, relief and charity.
Fraternally,
Worshipful Master Robert A. Brenes
